Ben Thanh Building, HCM CITY, Vietnam

The project conducted by Cong Sinh Architects is located in the center of Ho Chi Minh City. It’s a complex of a shopping center and a hotel. Being 14-storey-tall, Ben Thanh Building gives a strong impression at first sight because the building develops a simple architectural language and a delicate and harmonious form.

The architectural shape has an original rotation with the purpose of cleverly bringing greenery into the building. The aim is to encourage people to live closer to nature and to make the building friendly with its surroundings.

It can be seen that the typical image of the layer outside the building is the white solid blocks that contrast with the square windows. The division and arrangement of these blocks creates harmoniously integrated rules of composition. Besides, it also ensures that the interior spaces can get sunlight throughout the day, and people can have a panoramic view of the city from many angles.

The architects were successful in satisfying the owner’s requirements: Creating beauty which is based on simple elements and a building that not only meets the demands at present but can also adapt to new changes in the future.
