Yew-Thong Leong

An architect, Yew-Thong Leong is an Associate Professor at the Faculty of Engineering, Architecture and Science and the Yeates School of Graduate Studies at Ryerson University, Chairman of Signet Solutions Group (SSG), and Managing Director of SSG Architecture Inc. and SSG Beijing Landscape Design Co. Ltd. 

He is a professional member of the Ontario Association of Architects, a Scientific Member of the IAC (Belgium), a Fellow of both the IIAS (Germany) and the Royal Architecture Institute of Canada, and was the millennium Chair of the Toronto Society of Architects,  He served on numerous boards, including the Ryerson University Senate, the Faculty Council of the Association of Collegiate Schools of Architecture (US), the Toronto Preservation Board, and the National Roundtable on Heritage Education at Heritage Canada.

Concurrent with teaching, he is in active private practice.  His past Canadian projects include the award-winning projects Sharp Center for Design, OCAD; the Schulich School of Business, York University; the Rexall National Tennis Centre and most recently the Life Sciences Building at York University.

Yew-Thong attended the Pratt Institute, New York, where he studied architecture and urban design with New York Grey theorist Raimund Abraham and Main Streets guru Norman Mintz.
