James has been with the Practice since 1987 and has been responsible for a number of projects including the Queen’s Building at Emmanuel College, Haberdashers’ Hall in London, and Arc and the Apex in Bury St Edmunds.

He is currently working on an academic building for Brighton College, a mixed-use student housing scheme in the City of London and two major five-star central London hotels. He is the London Partner assisting the work of Hopkins Architects’ Dubai office and has a particular interest and expertise on the use of wood in buildings. He lectures widely on the subject and he has been a judge of the Wood Awards for the last eight years. He also sits on the Board of the Wren.
