Nigel is Design Director and Development Director at the Visionary Multidisciplinary Design Studio VX, based in Dubai. Nigel has been working in the Middle East where Modular Construction and Innovation in Construction has been the driving force of the built environment Internationally.

Nigel’s passion for creating innovative construction started when he was part of the Sainsbury’s Development Think Tank in London where he introduced the Big Box Concept Retail Box and developed building systems that would allow for the constant expansion of Retail Outlets.

Nigel Moved to the Middle East where his earliest project was the Commercial Bank of Qatar Headquarters in Qatar, which progressed to delivering projects for Leading Clients such as, IHG, Hilton, DAMAC, Emirates Nuclear Energy Corporation, ADMC, DIFC, Dusit, Ferrari, RBS, MBC 3, Qatar Foundation.

Nigel has been Design Manager for many of the region’s leading projects using both Traditional Construction Techniques and Modular Modern Methods of Construction from Low Rise through to High Rise Developments for some the Regions Leading Clients.
Nigel has pioneered Modular Systems for large communities showing the benefit of time, cost and Carbon Energy reduction as well as as showing how to incorporate Modern Methods of Construction into commercial projects.

Nigel has been a visionary leader in the development of mixed use sustainable residential and masterplans projects across the region for the past 12 years. Nigel has in the past been placed in the Top 50 GCC Architects and previously in the top “Power 100 in Construction GCC” and his sustainable initiatives have been greatly published.
Nigel is constantly supporting the innovation of building techniques and systems and even looks at the programming of construction logistics with materials to find ways to further reduce the negative impact of construction on the Community.
He is currently working on the development of a Future Masterplanning Guidelines for Community Generation of Self Sustainable building fabrics, as well as using low energy
