In 2004, Ken founded Make Architects, an award-winning employee-owned practice with a reputation for design excellence. Prior to this he built up a remarkable portfolio of experience across a variety of sectors as a partner at Foster + Partners. Since Make’s inception, Ken has led the practice and acted as a guardian to its 150-strong staff, currently spread across studios in London, Hong Kong and Sydney.

Make is a creative and imaginative studio dedicated to designing buildings, spaces and places that are as striking and innovative as they are socially, economically and environmentally responsible. Recently completed schemes include The Temple House in Chengdu, The Barn at the University of Nottingham, the Hiscox Building in York, and St James’s Market and the Monument Building, both in London. Projects currently on site include Birmingham’s Arena Central, London Wall Place in the City of London, The Madison tower in Canary Wharf and Wynyard Place in Sydney, Australia.

Ken is the senior vice president of the British Council for Offices 
(NB he becomes President on 5th June), a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts, and a member of the UK Government Advisory Group on Professional and Business Services. He’s also a respected designer and lecturer. In 2013 he established the Future Spaces Foundation to advance research and debate about the future of the spaces we live in.
