Jestico + Whiles


Heinz Richardson is Managing Director of Jestico + Whiles. He has expertise across many sectors and is an acknowledged expert on sustainable design. He is a champion for design excellence and was instrumental in establishing the practice as one of the first Employees Benefit Trusts.

Heinz is working on the Greenwich Millennium Village in London, a competition-winning masterplan that builds on the existing village typology by introducing a network of streets, mews and squares. Heinz is also responsible for overseeing the expert team currently involved in the restoration of Sir John Soane’s Pitzhanger Manor and Walpole Park in Ealing, London.

Heinz is a former member of the RIBA Sustainable Futures Committee, has been a Civic Trust Awards assessor and a guest-speaker at many UK and European conferences. He has been an external examiner at several Universities and a guest critic at a number ofschools of architecture including the Scott Sutherland School of Architecture. He is a fellow of the Royal Society of Arts as well as a former member of the Homes and Community Agency’s design and sustainability advisory group.

Heinz has also been responsible for many award-winning urban regeneration housing schemes.

In 2013 Heinz was part of a group of cyclists that rode over 4,000 miles from Portland, Oregon to Portland Place in London to raise money for Article 25 and the Architects’ Benevolent Fund.

Heinz’s personal home, House 19 was featured on the 2016 Grand Designs ‘House of the Year’ programme as a result of the House being shortlisted for a RIBA Award.
