Paul Vick

Paul Vick Architects

Paul Vick is a professional architect (RIBA, ARB) and Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts who has lectured on architecture at University College London, MIT and the National Building Museum. His work has also been published in the Architect’s Journal and World Architecture News amongst others. He trained at Cambridge University and Oxford Brookes University with extended periods in Washington DC and Beijing. 

The practice was recently shortlisted for RICS 2014 Award, RIBA (London) Awards 2013, The International Design & Architecture Awards 2013, AR Future Project Awards 2013 and the practice was shortlisted for Architect of the Year 2011, Builder and Engineer Awards.

Paul Vick architects is looking at a cross-section of work of varying sizes – the aim is to create gems large or small for clients.

The practice has a 100% planning permission record including in listed buildings, conservation areas and new build. Boroughs include Royal Borough of Kensington & Chelsea and Westminster, Ealing, Hounslow, Wandsworth as well as further afield. 

The practice has undertaken work in Leicester Square, Oxford, Brook Street adjacent to New Bond Street in the West End for a mini-department store for one of the oldest retailers in the world and Smithfield Market. At the latter, they worked with the Corporation of London on an incubator for new businesses. A private office the practice completed was exhibited at New London Architecture, The Building Centre in Central London in 2012. 

Other work includes writing a vision and outline design for a new building type for the Diocese of London and designing a £10m addition to St Paul’s in Knightsbridge; a new theatre and sixth form centre to advising on a multi-home eco-development. 

In Feb 2014, Paul Vick gave a talk at Schroders in The City of London on ‘Inspiration and value enhancement’, and his talk at New London Architecture, The Building Centre in January 2014 was attended by 260 people and was at full capacity. In May 2011, Paul Vick had a paper published in the Magdalene College, Cambridge magazine on ‘The Creation of Knowledge and Innovation in architecture’ which is an excerpt of a talk he gave to the Strategic Investment Management Association, SIMA, supported by the London Stock Exchange.
