Andrew McMullan becomes VP at HOK London

Andrew McMullan has been appointed a Vice President in HOK’s London practice. As a senior design leader, Andrew will work directly with Design Principal Larry Malcic to lead major projects and enhance the design culture across the practice.

Andrew joins HOK from Heatherwick Studio, where he was a Senior Project Leader, leading teams on a number of prestigious schemes, including a major New York urban development and a luxury residential tower in Singapore. Prior to this he was a Project Architect at Allies and Morrison, delivering the London 2012 Olympic masterplan and the Rothschild’s Bank Headquarters in London, nominated for the RIBA Stirling Prize.

Andrew Mcmullan, Vice President, Senior Project Designer: ‘I am delighted to be joining the HOK team and honoured to take on this new role to help direct the firms future. From the rapid shifts in the demand for new workplaces and infrastructure, to the ever-present dilemma of how we build enough homes for our changing population, a fundamental need is the sense of humanity that these places must nurture. HOK is well positioned to play an important role in responding to these challenges and I look forward to helping to create imaginative and inspiring solutions.’

Larry Malcic, Senior Vice President, Design Principal: ‘We are delighted to welcome Andrew. Design talent is the touchstone of every architectural practice, and Andrew has honed his unique talent working with world-recognised designers and clients. His ideas and experience will contribute to our continued growth in quality, size and expertise. He shares our client-orientated approach and adds fresh perspectives to our team.’

Daniel Hajjar, Senior Vice President, Managing Principal: ‘Andrew is a highly talented, award winning designer with an impressive track record of managing large teams engaged on major contracts for high profile clients. His experience working across a range of sectors on international and UK projects, including extensive experience working on London schemes, makes him an ideal and important addition to our talented team.’
